The Kristi Visocky Memorial Foundation, a.k.a. Kristi's Fund, was created in memory of Kristi Visocky who was killed in an auto accident in May of 2003 at the age of 21. Determined to keep alive the spirit and compassion of a young woman more . . . who was a strong champion of the underdog and supporter of troubled youth, Kristi's Fund was set up to provide scholarships and assistance to area young people.
Kristi was an incredibly beautiful soul, filled with compassion and concern for those less fortunate. From the time she was a small child she stood up for fairness and integrity and often railed against the injustices in this world. Oh how that child loved to argue and challenge the status quo.
The young women who have benefited from the Kristi Visocky Memorial Foundation Scholarships are the very types Kristi supported: young, displaced girls and single moms, working to pull their life back together and create a better life for themselves or their families. One such woman, a single mom of three little boys, who was embarking on nursing school, put it this way when told she would receive a $2000 scholarship to Front Range Community College, "You don't know what this means to me. It's not just the money for school, it's that you believe in me and believe that I can do this!"
